Read Korean.
From day one.
처음부터 읽는 한국어
OROT is a graded reader for Korean beginners. Instead of drilling words in isolation, you read real stories set in modern Seoul — and the vocabulary you review comes straight from what you've read.

The Method
How OROT works
Context First문맥
Every word arrives inside a story, not a vocabulary list. Meaning emerges through context — the way you learned your first language.
Graded Stories이야기
Start free with Section One: ten connected texts. Go Pro for 100+ texts across five story arcs. Grammar appears only when the story needs it — never as a drill.
Pure Immersion몰입
Tap any word for a dictionary entry, romanization, or a morpheme-level breakdown. Save what's worth keeping — review surfaces it later, built from what you've actually read. The story stays the center; the tools wait until you ask.
The App
Built to be read, not studied
01Reading이야기
Stories worth finishing.
Every text is a chapter. Read them in order and they braid into a single original narrative — slow-burning, character-driven, set in modern Seoul, in the spirit of Korean web novels. You never drill sentences. You turn pages.
- 100+ texts across 5+ story arcsPro
- Studio-quality audio narration for every text
- Pure Hangul — no romanization in Reading Mode

02Understanding문법
Every sentence, taken apart.
Open any line for a complete breakdown — every particle, ending and stem explained in plain English, with transliteration and a natural translation. Hear the whole sentence, then each word on its own.
- Word-by-word audio for true pronunciation
- Save any new word to your personal dictionary
- Grammar explained only where the story uses it

03Rewards응원봉
Collect the light.
Finish a section and a lightstick is yours — a small, luminous keepsake of how far you have come. Your First Light is only the beginning; rarer editions are earned through milestones and quiet achievements.
- A collectible lightstick for every section
- Special editions for milestones & achievements

About
OROT means wholly. completely. undiminished.
OROT is built on a simple conviction: the fastest path to reading fluency is to read. Not grammar tables, not flashcards, not sentence-by-sentence translation — but real language inside a story you actually want to finish.
The approach is adapted from Hans Ørberg's Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata— the most celebrated Latin reader of the twentieth century — and applied to modern Korean. The stories read like web fiction: contemporary, serialized, written in the Korean people actually use, not textbook Korean.
Grammar is never front-loaded. It surfaces inside the story, at the moment understanding becomes possible — and necessary. You're not studying a language. You're reading one.
오롯o·rot
Native Korean · no borrowed roots
whole, complete, intact.
and a second, quieter sense — alone, in stillness.
That's the state we built OROT for — one reader, one story, the language whole and undiminished in front of you.
